Forest Fourscore Virtual Reliability Ride

Date: Tuesday 8 Sep 2020
Time: 12:00am
Location: Romsey

This Virtual Reliability ride can be done anytime until Sunday 20 September.

The Forest Fourscore is an 81-mile circuit on mainly quiet lanes. It follows a northwest route to Alderbury, then heads south through Downton and Poulner towards Bransgore, before passing through several New Forest villages (Burley, Sway, Brockenhurst), where there is a selection of cafés for those who wish to take a break. There isn’t a single traffic light on the route.

It’s a fairly flat route, apart from Alderbury—Downton, and the usual speed ranges (bronze 12–14, silver 14–16, gold 16+ mph) will determine your classification at the end of the ride. Send an EMAIL to me with your starting and finishing times, and I’ll work this out: wmd@soton.ac.uk.

If you start at Romsey Bus Station (free parking on Sundays) instead of Carlo’s Ices in West Wellow, you’ll get a 15-minute time bonus. You can do the route any day between now and Sunday 20 September; but please keep to daylight hours and ride solo or in groups of at most six riders.
