You’ll need a reasonable level of fitness to enjoy one of our ‘club runs’ (club run being a social ride, usually with a café stop). By reasonable level of fitness, we’d suggest that you should be able to ride about 30 miles, once or twice a week, at around 12mph. If you’re not at that standard yet it might be best to ride on your own or with friends until you feel comfortable with that distance and pace.
Our regular Sunday runs leave from the car park next to the Fleming Avenue Shopping Parade in North Baddesley at 9.am April – October and 9.30am the rest of the year. We normally cover around 30-60 miles, depending on group ability and usually taking in a cafe stop, returning to the North Baddesley area around 1pm.
If you’ve read the club run rules, points for guidance and the frequently asked questions and would like to come out with us on a club run, there is one final thing we would ask you to do.
Please download and complete our New Rider Introduction Form and hand it to a Sotonia CC official at the run meeting point before starting on your first ride with us. This form is very important as it helps us to comply with the terms of the club’s insurance policy and helps identify new riders who are taking part in the club run.
