Round six and winter is coming. A definite chill in the air at Basingstoke and although the course wasn't muddy, it was wet underfoot and made for some tentative racing.

It was fine weather once again and not a hint of mud for round 5 of Wessex League Cyclocross season at Fairthorne Manor

After nine months wait, the cross season started with a bang at Mary Hare School, Newbury. Early fixtures are often warm, dry affairs and this was no different.

First impressions were that warm, sunny evening weather felt very odd in contrast to the last cross race six whole months ago.

And so sadly... the final round of this season's Cyclo-cross racing and a fitting end to a great season for the Wessex League.
